When the Enemy Comes in Like A Flood...

Updated: Sep 23, 2020

In Matthew chapter 6:33, God reminds us to seek Him above all else and all that we have need of. In Matthew 6:25-34, God assures us that He is aware of all that we need. I went through a time when I did not know how I was going to pay my rent, eat, pay bills, get clothes and shoes for my son and I. But God! I would go to the mailbox and often there would be a check for what I needed (if not moreso). It was God raining down manna, like He did for the Israelites and sending quail in the desert. People sent clothes and shoes. Eventually, I was able to get an income until the pandemic. Then, that positioned me to qualify for the unemployment stimulus! Only God!

God's provision left me so much better off than I was before. I lost a job several years ago. I was teaching at the time. The principal called me into her office and told me that I would never measure up to her. She had a doctorate and she heard that I was pursuing my doctorate. She blacklisted me. She called every local school district that she could think of and told them not to hire me. The enemy tried to end my career. But God! God opened a door for me and I stayed in education until the Lord told me to transition to my next level in Him. "When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord lifts up a standard" (Isaiah 59:19). I dare you to trust God! Will you trust Him to move in your life?
